How does Solano cloud billing work?

iasset

Video Transcript:

In this video, I’m going to walk you through how to use Solano, the part of the iasset.com platform focused on easing the cloud billing burden for Microsoft Direct CSPs. If your team today manually keys in thousands of lines of consumption data to invoice your customers, then rather than waste another minute analyzing large and complex Microsoft CSP reconciliation files, it’s time to shift to Solano.

At a high level, once you’re up and running on Solano, you simply import your reconciliation files, upon which Solano® will automatically convert your aggregated cloud consumption data into billing information ready for your ERP system to invoice, combining monthly usage and pricing information for each end customer.

So let’s take a look at how that works.

To get on board, simply go to iasset.com/solano and click to start your trial. After entering your account information, we’ll verify your details and activate your login. At this point, you’re ready to enjoy Solano®, inclusive of a 30-day free trial offer.

After logging in, you can use your default CSP margins or you can choose to setup specific margins that Solano will use to automatically calculate your sell prices, such as product and/or customer specific margins. In addition, if you use Microsoft price books those can be uploaded too, otherwise Solano will take pricing inputs from the CSP reconciliation files.

At the start of each month, when you download your reconciliation files from Microsoft, upload them into Solano. You’ll be guided through a wizard where Solano® only requires you to map your customer billing references the first time a customer appears on the reconciliation files. This is a one-time setup so when you come to bill, your ERP knows which customer to invoice, where Solano® will remember the mapping for subsequent uploaded reconciliation files.

With the files imported, within seconds Solano automatically splits the usage into individual customer contracts & periodical reports, using your pricing setup to automatically calculate your sell price for each product or service utilised – eliminating the need to spend hours, days or even weeks performing the same task manually.

To complete the process, you can download a billing file ready to import to your ERP for invoicing. All within seconds. In addition to which, Solano stores a history of usage under end customer contracts, providing visibility into that data to be used to drive further sales opportunities.

The benefits of using Solano are that you will reduce costs significantly, counting your time to revenue in seconds rather than days, enabling to you scale your Microsoft cloud business and cashflows, while also removing the risk through human error by automating pricing calculations as well as improving data integrity.

And remember we offer a free 30 day, no commit trial for Solano – if you don’t upload reconciliation files beyond the 30-day trial, there is no charge. And even as you do continue using Solano after the trial, there’s no minimum spend, there are no setup costs or other subscription fees, just a service charge of 0.68 of 1% of transactions processed through the platform – you can use the calculator on our website to work this out upfront. Plus, while Solano is currently available for Microsoft direct CSP’s, we’ll soon be extending to include most other major cloud partners and some distributors - watch this space!
